The name AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase “approved workmen are not ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15). AWANA is a ministry the helps parents and churches raise children to know, love and serve Christ. It is a Bible based children’s program that is centered on the gospel and makes scripture memorization fun.

Our club is held on Sunday nights from 6:30 PM until 8:15 PM for children in Pre- Kindergarten through 6th grade. The typical club night will contain the following segments:

Opening Ceremony—Club night begins with a large group rally that includes pledges, music and general announcements.

Handbook Time—The group is separated into “clubs” based on a child’s grade in school. Children (“clubbers”) work one on one with a trained leader to finish assignments in their curriculum handbook. Memorizing and understanding key Bible verses teach children to know and follow God.

Large Group Time—Clubbers and leaders gather together for singing, club specific announcements and, most importantly, a practical Bible message.

Game Time—On the Awana game circle, clubbers unleash their energy while learning teamwork and sportsmanship.

Club Age Groups:

Achievement Awards

Awards are a key feature of AWANA. Throughout the year, clubbers can earn achievement awards to display on their uniforms as they progress through handbooks. Clubbers can also receive book completion awards at the end of the club year. In addition to individual awards, teams earn weekly awards for achievement and behavior throughout a club night that are celebrated at the end of the club night!
